Cabinet Installation Clamps

If you’re going to install cabinets for a new kitchen or bathroom then I suggest you invest in some cabinet clamps. If you’ve never installed cabinets yourself before then you might not understand the need for these simple cabinet clamps. However, these small little cabinet clamps can make the difference between a professional looking installation and an installation done by some lazy weekend DIY’ers.

Cabinet clamps are helpful in several ways. First off the cabinet clamps will act as a second set of hands and arms that don’t get tired! I like to lift the next cabinet into place and attach a couple cabinet clamps loosely to hold the cabinet in place. This allows me to take a short break, reach for a drill and stand back to assess where I’m at. Secondly and the biggest reason I’m a fan of cabinet clamps is the ability to get the face frames lined up.

Lining up the face frames is usually a real pain even with new construction. Even the best framed walls are never perfecly straight so two adjacent cabinets never sit perfectly flat against the wall. Thats where cabinet clamps come in handy. These clamps have a little “jaw” that allows you to line up the face frames so the front fo the frames are flush. Once you get the face frames flush you can pre-drill the cabinet stiles and screw the adjacent frames together. After the frames are screwed together you can then screw the cabinet to the wall.

Cabinet Clamps I Recommend

I like using the Pony Cabinet Claw Clamp Set which you can buy from Amazon for $85. Trust me when I say you’ll be darn glad you bought these clamps.
