Custom Mantel – Part 2 The Design

Written by .

mantel+copy Custom Mantel Part 2 The Design Tonight I decided to sketch up my first design for my new mantel. I think the proportions are pretty good and I’d love to hear any feedback or suggestions any of you might have.

My plan is to pre-fabricate the legs and head piece and then try to attach them to the wall. I’m currently getting some prices for some Windsor One mouldings that I liked and if I settle on them I’ll show some more detailed section drawings.

Come back soon for future updates.
