E = Excellent Home Improvement Blog Award

e for excellent E = Excellent Home Improvement Blog AwardI’d really like to thank Fred and Ethan at One Project Closer for awarding me an E for an Excellent Home Improvement Blog. When I first saw the E I was nervous that I received an E for my efforts instead of an A. I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative of their nomination. They nominated 10 great home improvement blogs that they enjoy reading and now it’s my turn. Of course Fred and Ethan named some of my favorite blogs so my task will be even harder. Now that you’ve been awarded this honor you’ll have to pass it on also (see the notes below).

Brooklynrowhouse is written by Steve who’s a real jack of all trades. His blog has some really amazing finish carpentry work that he’s done fixing up his Brooklyn NY Row House. If you’re looking for some great renovation carpentry then this blog is for you.

Did We Survive Hurricane Katrina or Not? is a really great blog about one family’s journey to rebuild their home after Hurricane Katrina. Anita and her family have done an amazing job restoring their home and getting their life back on track. If you’ve got some time it’s really worth reading her blog from the beginning to truly appreciate what they have been through.

Sun Volt Solar Blog is written by Paul who happens to also writes Homeowner’s Blog. Paul is one of my favorite bloggers. His ability to share very technical information with everyday readers is a real talent. Paul writes about home improvements and now the solar industry. If you’re at all interested in solar power, solar heat or solar in general then stop by his blog for some great information.

Building a Better Bungalow is written by Andy who’s fixing up his Chicago Bungalow. I like this blog because he’s not a builder yet he’s willing to tackle some great projects and they come out great. Definitely a great bungalow blog.

Bangor Bungalow is another bungalow blog that I enjoy reading. They are restoring a bungalow in Bangor ME. They’re really doing a great job. I particularly love the pink toilet and bathtub that reminds me of our first home.

A Coastal New England Dutch Colonial Home is about the remodeling of a 1930′s Dutch Colonial in Rhode Island. Maya and her husband are doing a great job remodeling their home that sits on the ocean. I must say I’m quite envious of the view they have from the front porch.

The Newlywed Diaries is written by Wes and Jennifer. They are sharing their remodeling efforts of a ranch style home. They are a young newlywed couple so it’s very interesting to see their perspective on remodeling at such a young age.

A Cali Girl Momma isn’t a home improvement blog at all but it’s written by my lovely wife and since she’s a big part of our home improvements then I’d say she counts too!

I have no idea if the rules even require home improvement blogs so that was my take on the rules. Now all of you that have been given this award must pick your E for Excellent blog winners and post about them.

    Hi Todd!

Congrats on your award – it really shows in the few posts i’ve scan read so far ‘across the pond’ so to speak.

I recently came across a similar uk site that has lots of really newsy items about home improvements – the best ones in terms of re-couping your money and the ones that with a little planning are achievable on a budget (and who isn’t these days?).

http://homeimprovementquotes.blogspot.com is the link – quite a useful read but i’d suggest reading it before starting a home improvement project.

We’re into personalised photo gifts ourselves – the most we get involved in kitchen makepvers is orders for personalised chopping boards and place setting mats.
