OK after a little more troubleshooting it turns out the ice maker was stuck in “Harvest Mode” pulled unit out of freezer and took apart. Apparently the mold heater shorted inside motor controller unit. In doing so, it burned up the electrical traces on the controller. Needless to say, it means another whole new ice maker which I found online for $75.00.

Sounds like an air lock in the water line to the ice maker. Not sure how exactly to fix that, need to purge the air out somehow.

I have a Sears side-by-side and have changed the water filter out every six months with a PUR filter. Just recently after the last change out I get water but no ice. This has happened before once before but started working by itself again. This time it has been over one week and still no ice. I always purge the dispenser out after changing the filter. I have tried unplugging refrig for a few minutes and removing and installing filter but still no ice. Any suggestions?

I’ve read many of the stucked filter comments. My filter does not look like the picture. The filter is completely round and smooth so I can’t pull it out with anything. I can’t twist it. There’s nothing to grab hold on. Does this warrant a service call?
