Burj+Dubai+Building Worlds Tallest BuildingThe world’s tallest building is being built in Dubai, United Arab Emirates right now. This building is absolutely breathtaking when you compare it to the world’s current leaders. The top of the new building is scheduled to be finished some time in August of this year. It will stand over 2,600 feet high, that’s over 1/2 of a mile high.

I’m totally amazed by large structures. As much as I love seeing these incredible engineering feats I know the reality is that one day the engineering will be beyond our current knowledge and something Burj+Dubai+Photo Worlds Tallest Buildingbad will happen. My engineering background and knowledge of engineering history tells me it’s only a matter of time. It will be interesting to see what the final height is and how the building does.

When it comes to my construction background I can only look at these pictures in awe. I can’t even begin to imagine how high that really is. I’ve inspected bridges that were several hundred feet in the air but nothing even close to several thousand feet. Just imagine the complexities that exist trying to work that high off the ground. The logistics involved in just moving steel and concrete up to the top of that building must be amazing.
