Home Improvement Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day falls on June 20 this year (2010). If your father enjoys DIY, Home Improvement or Construction then we have a list of gift ideas. Instead of getting dad one of those lovable mugs or a tie how about buying him a great new tool!!

Here on our Home Improvement site we’ve reviewed lots of great tools this year and it seems like a great time to quickly list some of them as they would make great gifts for Dad! The following is our list of the Top 5 Father’s Day Gift Ideas for 2010.

Rockwell Jawhorse

One of the best selling and most popular tools this year and last is the Rockwell Jawhorse. If you haven’t heard about the Jawhorse then what you need to know is it’s a great addition to any garage, workshop or basement. The Jawhorse is both a sawhorse and a bench clamp in one versatile tool.

You can purchase the Jawhorse for $179.00 here.

Bostitch Compressor – Nail Gun Combo Kit

DIY’ers, woodworkers, carpenters and contractors can all use a small pancake compressor around the house or shop. Fortunately compressor kits are very reasonably priced and they typically offer several nails guns. The Bostitch Combo Kit is one that I’ve owned for several years and it still works great. This particular kit comes with a finish nailer, brad nailer, finish stapler, compressor and hose. Priced just under $370 it’s a wonderful value and a gift that all dad’s will like.

DEWALT Compact Li-Ion Impact Driver

Impact Drivers are all the rage today and we think every Dad should own one!! Impact drivers are quickly replacing many drills on the job site and at home. Frankly we don’t know how anyone was able to build anything prior to their release.

We recently wrote the DEWALT DC827KL Impact Driver Review and think it would make a great Father’s Day Gift. The impact driver is perfect for installing wood screws, drilling framing lumber, installing self-tapping screws and even large lag screws. You can buy the DC827KL for $329 here.

Dremel 8200 Cordless Rotary Tool

Every Dad needs a Dremel Tool. We recently published our Dremel 8200 Review and found it to be a worthy tool for anyone. Dremel tools are very versatile and come in handy with hobbies, repairs, and most any task that requires sanding, polishing and grinding. The Dremel 8200 can be purchased for about $100 here.

Porter-Cable 895PK Multi-Base Router Kit

Last but certainly not least is the Porter-Cable 895PK Router Kit. If your Dad enjoys woodworking then chances are he’d love a nice new router. The 895PK Router Kit comes with a great case and two bases. This is a perfect starter kit for the beginner or even a nice kit for seasoned DIY’ers. We tested this kit this year and really liked the quality and features. It can be purchased for under $300 here.

Treat dad right this year with the best fathers day gifts 2011.
