Providing 18 UNISAW® Cabinets Saws and 9 Dust Collectors

Anderson, SC, June 20, 2011DELTA® Power Equipment Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of portable, stationary and benchtop woodworking machinery and equipment, is continuing the DELTA® tradition of supporting SkillsUSA by providing 18 special production run UNISAW® cabinet saws and nine dust collection units to the Cabinetmaking competition at the SkillsUSA National Conference and Contest in Kansas City, Missouri, June 21-23, 2011. This is the highest level of support DELTA has ever provided to SkillsUSA.

The 18 Made in USA UNISAW® cabinet saws were built at DELTA’s new manufacturing facility in Anderson, South Carolina. Sixty-eight SkillsUSA students will compete in the Cabinetmaking competition in two age groups – secondary and post secondary – and the winner of the post secondary competition will compete in the WorldSkills Cabinetmaking Qualifying Trial at the AWFS® Fair in July. DELTA will be providing the UNISAW® cabinet saw for this competition as well.

“We are pleased to provide the SkillsUSA national cabinetmaking competition with our machinery and equipment,” said Bryan Whiffen, President and CEO of DELTA® Power Equipment Corporation. “These young men and women are serious about entering the cabinetmaking industry and we naturally want to encourage and support their interest in this industry in any way that we can.”

At the WorldSkills Cabinetmaking Qualifying Trial at the AWFS® Fair in July, there will be two competitors who are prior SkillsUSA first place winners, who will be racing each other and the clock to provide the best quality project. The winner in July will be awarded a UNISAW® by DELTA® and DELTA will donate a UNISAW® to the winner’s school. The ceremony will be held at the Las Vegas Conventions Center on Saturday, July 23, 2011 and DELTA will have Scott Phillips of The American Woodshop present to congratulate the winner and runner up and encourage them to not only chase but to capture their dream.
