Todd, great website by the way, question in regards to framing a basement wall. Do you suggest nailing the bottom plate through the concrete slab? My concern is the cracking and possible moisture seeping through all those little holes and possible cracks. Are there any other alternative ways to frame in the basement than to drive nails thru the concrete?

    thanks

In some situations we do not nail them as the slab contains radiant tubing. Typically we glue and use a few nails to hold that in place. ONce the adhesive dries the plate seldom will move.
