Makita Launches New Paddle Switch Angle Grinder

New GA4534 combines power, durability and ergonomics.

La Mirada, CA – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, is proud to announce the release of a new 4-1/2” Paddle Switch Angle Grinder, model GA4534. The GA4534 combines durability and ergonomics with a Makita-built 6 AMP motor to deliver more output power for increased performance for masons, welders, shipyard workers, automotive technicians,
stone/tile workers, HVAC, electricians, and more.

“The new GA4534 has the smallest barrel grip on the market, and is the most compact and lightweight paddle switch angle grinder in its class,” said Wayne Hart, Makita communications manager. “Makita has shown once again how to take an industry leading tool and refine it to make it even better.”

The new GA4534 is engineered with non-protruding brush holders and an innovative motor housing that reduce the barrel diameter to only 2-3/16”. In addition, the GA4534 has an ergonomic grip for added comfort, and weighs only 4.2 lbs. for reduced operator fatigue. The side handle is positioned at an increased 20-degree angle for added comfort and control, and the paddle switch has a no lock-on for added user preference.

The new GA4034 is powered by a Makita-built 6 AMP motor that delivers 11,000 RPM for the most demanding applications. The labyrinth construction seals and protects the motor and bearings from dust and debris for longer tool life. In addition, the machined bevel gears provide at least 2X longer service life than previous models, and the all ball bearing design and metal gear housing are engineered for added durability.

The new GA4534 is built to suit the most demanding applications including cutting brick and masonry, cutting ferrous metal, paint and rust removal, dressing welds, shipyard maintenance, metal polishing, general grinding, auto repair work, and more. The grinder is built for professional tradesman including masons, welders, shipyard workers, automotive technicians, stone/tile, HVAC, electricians, and general contractors seeking a best-in-class paddle switch angle grinder. The GA4534 includes the tool, one 4-1/2” grinding wheel, wheel guard, lock-nut, lock-nut wrench, side handle, and inner flange.
