Porter-Cable 18 Volt Lithium Ion Drill/Driver – Model PCL180CDK-2
Earlier this year Porter-Cable rolled out a new 18 Volt Drill/Driver that we tested and reviewed over on Tool Box Buzz (Porter-Cable PCL180CDK Review). I’m so impressed with this “compact” 18 Volt Drill/Driver than it’s become my go to drill/driver out of a massive arsenal of tools. If you missed my review here are the basics.
Specifications and Features
- All metal 1/2 in. keyless chuck offers excellent bit retention and jobsite durability

I can retire my old Craftsman rechargeable to my Son, and use this gem.
I would use it as a cordless drill/driver. I was going to use it as a saw, but then I thought that was just silly. I already have a saw. Then I thought, well maybe as a hammer. Naw, it would not last long as a hammer and I have one of them already too. So, a drill/driver it is. Especially since my makita died on me not long ago.
Love the newsletter, and would really love that drill! I’ve been researching them recently, it is time to upgrade from my current drill, and my backup DeWalt just died. Thanks.

Gary – It’s not a requirement, if you read closely you’ll see that you can enter without using Facebook. While I respect your desire to not partake in Facebook some of us actually enjoy using it.
I like that the Multi-volt charger can charge both the Lithium Ion and NiCD batteries.
With a home purchase looming, I would have at least two years of improvement projects to use the drill for – wall repairs and drywall work for one.
I would use the Porter-Cable Drill/Driver for repairs around the farm.
I am in the planning phase of finishing my basement, and this drill would really come in handy for the construction phase. My 14V cordless just does not cut it anymore, loses power too quickly, not strong enough.
I would use the Porter-Cable 18V Drill/Driver to replace the one that my son borrowed and I think I will never get back
If it is any thing like my Porter Cable Belt Sander I would use it for every project.

Very handy tool for almost any construction project. You gotta love the Porter-Cable 18V Drill/Driver.
I would replace my cheapo disposable black&decker nicad drill! I’m finishing my basement (using Todd’s method, of course), and a good drill would be nice to have.
Would really enjoying having a “real drill” … I am in the process of finishing my basement and have a cheap drill from Target, its time to step it up for many upcoming house projects! I love that it has the work light and 30 min charger.
I have an old DeWalt that served me well but alas the batteries need replacing and the trigger switch is on the fritz. I started to remodel my basement and need a good portable drill to work with. I’ll use it there and throughout the house and in my yard as I continue with the many improvements we have envisioned.
I could definitely use that drill. I own a fixer-upper with LOTS of projects and the only drill I have is an old one purchased from a garage sale!! And this one looks like it would be a nice addition to my life!!
With three girls in the house there is plenty of things I can do with that drill
My Dewalt is getting old so I need to replace it. The Porter Cable would work nice if it is as good as their other tools.

Seems like a solid enough drill. My old Rigid needs a new battery, but usually by the time one of my tools needs a new battery, I end up replacing the whole thing anyway. I’m more looking for an impact driver, but if its free, I can live without :)

Hey I’m interested in Porter cable to see how well ergonomics r with this drill and how long battery like is. However I’m a diehard dewalt Guy so if I win this its gonna be a gift for my dad I have the 20v Max drill driver. But to win this would be kool.

I have used a porter cable drill before and it worked great, I would love to compare the difference between the old one and a lithium Ion drill. I have heard great things but have never had the opportunity to try it out. I have tons of projects I have to do that could use that drill.
I need to create a shelves for storage room in the basement and in the garage. A big project for a starter. It would be handy to have a relaiable Drill like Porter Cable to get my project done efficiently.
We’d use it on our next project – building a pocket door for the bathroom.

My 22 year old Craftsman plug-in drill needs replacing. I could sure use this!

I would use the Porter-Cable Drill/Driver for repairs around the home.
When I am looking to purchase any tools, I look at Porter Cable first. In fact my first power tool was a Porter Cable plunge router, which still is as good as new. I am going to re-do my lower level and need a drill/driver that is reliable and performs!
I would use this drill for doing work in my garage, on my race cars and other vehicles, and for around the house
My craftsman is wore out too many DIY projects? Nope never.

I am a building contractor in skowhegan,me. I have been out of work for two months now. Barely scraping by at the moment…. I would use to hang shelving units in a large closet project I have going on right now.
My boyfriend’s was stolen so he uses my B&D driver. I’d give this to him because he uses mine daily and this one could handle the workload better than mine.
I am putting together the plans for a custom shed this summer. I will be using a ton of screws and this will definitely be a vital tool to have on hand. I am sure the Lithium Ion Batteries will make an easy task of the assembly procedure.
This smaller drill would be a great benefit. I’m currently refinishing my basement. The power drill I have now is a good drill, but it’s size was a detriment in some of the places I had to reach. Thanks for the contest.

Followed your advice on basement insulation (floor, walls and joist cavities) with great results and am now framing the basement. My Porter Cable nailers are great and would love to use this in finishing the basement.
