Porter-Cable 18 Volt Lithium Ion Drill/Driver – Model PCL180CDK-2

Earlier this year Porter-Cable rolled out a new 18 Volt Drill/Driver that we tested and reviewed over on Tool Box Buzz (Porter-Cable PCL180CDK Review). I’m so impressed with this “compact” 18 Volt Drill/Driver than it’s become my go to drill/driver out of a massive arsenal of tools. If you missed my review here are the basics.

    I would use it as a cordless drill/driver. I was going to use it as a saw, but then I thought that was just silly. I already have a saw. Then I thought, well maybe as a hammer. Naw, it would not last long as a hammer and I have one of them already too. So, a drill/driver it is. Especially since my makita died on me not long ago.

      Gary – It’s not a requirement, if you read closely you’ll see that you can enter without using Facebook. While I respect your desire to not partake in Facebook some of us actually enjoy using it.

    I am in the planning phase of finishing my basement, and this drill would really come in handy for the construction phase. My 14V cordless just does not cut it anymore, loses power too quickly, not strong enough.

    Would really enjoying having a “real drill” … I am in the process of finishing my basement and have a cheap drill from Target, its time to step it up for many upcoming house projects! I love that it has the work light and 30 min charger.

    I have an old DeWalt that served me well but alas the batteries need replacing and the trigger switch is on the fritz. I started to remodel my basement and need a good portable drill to work with. I’ll use it there and throughout the house and in my yard as I continue with the many improvements we have envisioned.

    Seems like a solid enough drill. My old Rigid needs a new battery, but usually by the time one of my tools needs a new battery, I end up replacing the whole thing anyway. I’m more looking for an impact driver, but if its free, I can live without :)

    I have used a porter cable drill before and it worked great, I would love to compare the difference between the old one and a lithium Ion drill. I have heard great things but have never had the opportunity to try it out. I have tons of projects I have to do that could use that drill.

    cordless drill currently and it’s a larger one. I’m looking to use

    I am a building contractor in skowhegan,me. I have been out of work for two months now. Barely scraping by at the moment….
