Renew & Redo Bath Makeover – Before & After

$1200 Bathroom Remodel Before & After

Last month we told you all about the Renew & Redo Bath Event at The Home Depot which ends this week on the 23rd. The Home Depot is helping home owners renew their bathrooms with some great sales, great selections and lots of helpful tips. To help show you an example of a bathroom renewed by their sales event we rolled up our sleeves and transformed an out of date bathroom into a beautiful new updated bathroom.

Transforming your bathroom is really easy with the help of The Home Depot. Before starting our project we visited our local Home Depot and met with a sales associate who assisted us in selecting all the products we needed. This sales event made it even easier with lots of packaged vanity sets, matching plumbing and light fixtures and floor models that make paint selection a piece of cake.

Our Renew & Redo Project

For our project we helped a good friend remodel a dated bathroom stuck in the 80’s. The bathroom itself was in good condition but really needed some modernization and style upgrades. So we decided to replace the double vanity, upgrade the mirror and lighting, replace the flooring, paint the walls and install some new accessories. We set a budget at $1,000 and set the project in motion.

New His & Her Vanities

At the top of the list was selecting new his and her vanities to replace the old large oak vanity. The Home Depot has a huge selection of packaged vanities to meet any style, shape and size. For our project we selected the WoodCrafters St. Paul Valencia 25 in. Vanity with Porcelain Top and Mirror in Glazed Hazelnu.

This particular package comes with the vanity, sink and mirror all for $269.00. That’s a great value and it is a beautiful vanity set.

New Delta Faucets

Next we selected new faucets by Delta. For this project we used the Delta Vessona in the Venetian Bronze Finish. These faucets go great with the style of the new vanities and the Bronze finish matches the rich color of the wood.

These faucets also meet the EPA’s WaterSense criteria meaning additional savings on water usage. Delta offers a great Lifetime Faucet and Finish Limited Warranty on these as well.

New Vanity Lighting

Today lighting has as many options as plumbing fixtures which makes selection tough but the end result is usually a perfect match. For this project we selected the Three Lamp Bath & Vanity lights from the North Park Collection at Progress Lighting in Venetian Bronze.

Wall Finishes

A bathroom remodel isn’t complete without some new colors on the wall. For this project we used Martha Steward Living Paint. The upper wall color is  Macadamia in an eggshell finish. The lower wainscot is painted white in a semi-gloss along with all the trim.

The wainscot was made with a pre-packaged kit from The Home Depot, Cape Cod Beadbard Wainscot. The kits come complete with 6 pieces of 7″ wide, 32″ long beadboard, pre-grooved baseboard and pre-grooved chair rail. This is a really simple and effective way for DIY’ers to install wainscoting and it’s really affordable.

New Tile

We also installed new ceramic tile. We ended up purchasing some sale tile that was on clearance. Many times you’ll find great deals on tile in limited quantities which works well for bathroom remodels. Bathrooms like this one are so small that it only takes a few boxes of tile which can lead to serious savings!

The Renewed Bathroom

As you can see the bathroom is now updated and beautiful and the best part is the cost! This entire project cost about $1,200 and 0nly took a couple of weekends to do. When you consider that the average bathroom remodeling project can cost $5,000 to $10,000 I’d say we did a great job. The Home Depot’s Renew & Redo Bath Event made this project a huge success. Even if you miss this sales event The Home Depot will continue to offer great prices and selection on products that can help you transform your bathroom like we did.

So why not visit your local Home Depot in the next couple of days while the Renew & Redo event is still going on. You too can transform you bathroom and create your own little oasis!
